Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to prepare complex drawings using computer-aided techniques and capabilities including three dimensional (3-D) modelling and exploded assembly drawings. Work involves conversion of drawings for computer numerically controlled (CNC) applications and is completed in a forest products factory setting.The unit applies to Designer (Manufacturing and Engineered Wood Products), Production Manager (Timber Truss & Frame), Designer (Timber Truss & Frame)No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: computers, keyboards and industry current software programs used to produce computer aided drawings and job sheets designs, plans and technical specifications CNC machinery specifications template job sheets relevant personnel for the purposes of communicating information organisational procedures for producing drawings and documents using computers Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
